about

Last song recorded. After "The Last Stand" (which I was convinced was the last song we'd record). But after finishing that opus, I got the urge to write something simple, catchy, and classic. No irony in the lyrics. Listened to "Bridge of Troubled Water" and "You've Got A Friend" and lots of Motown. I read an interview in Spin about the making of KISS' Destroyer (and how they were inspired by the pop simplicity of SugarPie HoneyBunch) on "Do You Love Me" - which also inspired the tubular bells. Drum intro started as an "Everybody Wants Some" idea, but didn't end up sounding anything like that.
